Friday: a special Day of Jumu’ah.

Marrakesh magical journey follow up…in the previous post I talked mostly about the history, the places you shouldn’t let pass but this dreamy city has much much more… the caftan colours of the muslim women are breathtaking! And I noticed a very interesting thing, Friday is the day for wearing more vibrant joyful colours as the day of prayer Salaat-ul-Jumma, or Friday Prayer, is offered in congregation. Each week on Friday, Muslims are required to take a bath, dress in their best clean clothes, wear perfume and assemble in the mosque for Friday Prayer.

I’m a caftan addict since I remember ,maybe when I was born my mum wrapped me in some sort of caftan 🙂 so being here I need to get a  new one… well not really one!! This is one of those pieces that when I get home it always brings all sorts of memories. I close my eyes and hear the sound of prayers, although I’m not muslim there’s something in that sound that seems so magical!

To be continued…..

On this note, I will let enjoy the post and will be looking forward to hearing your comments on them.
